Can I just book and then discuss it?
Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to simply
book the first hour (even no hours at all!) and to discuss the details
with your assembly team first. They will be able to give you a time
estimate and full quote. In fact, if you have any queries not answered
here we suggest that you only confirm your booking (by making a
small deposit) without requesting a specific number of hours. Your
assembler will contact you directly.
Are your
quotes and time periods fixed?
No. The price you will be given through our
online quote system is fixed in as much as you will never be charged a
higher rate. It is good to get a quote as you will know exactly where
you stand. As far as timing is concerned a level of flexibility may be
needed on both sides. For example if you don't request enough time it can
be extended (see more below) and if you have requested more time than is
needed our assemblers won't hold you to it, in fact they will inform you
beforehand if they can do it more quickly.
Is my
deposit refundable?
Yes. The small deposit that we ask you to make
in order to confirm your booking is refundable if: a) an assembler
is not available (say for example due to ill health); and b) if they are
fully booked and could not assist you within four weeks (at the very
longest). The deposit is not refundable due simply to a change of
mind, in this respect it should be considered as a booking fee.
What if I
underestimate the assembly time?
No problem with underestimating, nor with
overestimating for that matter. If the assembler has more time available
on the same day he will be glad to help you there and then, furthermore
you would be charged at the lower rates. Please bear in mind that if a lot
of time is needed and runs into another day you will be charged the first
hour rate again (but just once) which is only fair as it includes the
assemblers travel costs etc.
How much does the
collection service cost?
Our assemblers collect and deliver only as
part of an assembly service. Over a distance of not more than 20 miles
they will request around £28 (see quote form depending on area). For
further distances generally speaking the cost is around £1/mile.
What form of payments do you
take?
In order to confirm your booking we ask for
a deposit (booking fee) of just £10 which is payable online by
credit/debit card or you can make the full payment on pro-forma invoice.
If making a deposit only the full payment comes after the work has been completed. The method
for that will depend on what
facilities the assembler has in place. Normally the final payment is made
by cash or cheque although some teams (but not all) have credit card
facilities too.
Do you remove waste materials?
Sorry, no. If you dispose of the waste it
is treated at household refuse for which you are not charged. If we
dispose of it we are charged an (exorbitant) amount because it is treated
as commercial waste. Sad but true! We can get rid of it for you if really necessary but
only at the cost incurred. What we can and will do is make sure the job is
left in a tidy condition with the waste materials neatly packaged for
easy disposal.
Do you fit
kitchens?
No, we do not fit kitchens or bathrooms,
only traditional flat pack furniture that comes from places like Ikea, MFI, Argos, Index, Courts, Furniture Village, Marks
and Spencer, Homebase, B&Q, Staples, Office World etc.
However, we can provide the labour to assist you with your project on
the understanding that we are providing a helping hand (much needed we are
sure!).
Do
your prices include VAT?
At this time the booking fee for flat pack
assembly does not
include VAT, the remainder of the payment is made to the assembly team and
will depend on whether they are VAT registered. Generally speaking they
are usually not as they are mostly hard-working small sole traders.
